Gmail Alias Management

The Bananatag extension for Gmail allows you to manage how tracking works with your ‘Send As’ addresses or ‘Aliases’.  This offers flexibility for a number of different account setups depending on your preference.

By allowing you to select how your emails are tracked you can choose to either track back to one Bananatag account, combining all your emails accounts into one account, or tracking separately to each account, which allows you to keep everything separate.  Modifying these rules on a per account basis allows you to combine specific accounts while keeping others separate.

Alias Management

To modify which Bananatag account the extension tracks your ‘Send As’ addresses to, click the Bananatag icon at the top of Gmail and then Gmail Aliases.

On the Alias Management screen you can select which Bananatag address you would like to track the emails to when you use one of the ‘Send As’ addresses you have setup on the account.  Tracking to the primary account will track that ‘Send As’ address to the account you are currently logged into Gmail with (listed at the top of the popup).  If you select to track at an address that doesn’t have an account setup, Bananatag will notify you and prompt you to create one.

That’s it!  This can be done with multiple accounts and allows you to track multiple email addresses using just one Bananatag account.

If the error is persistent the extension will be automatically disabled. You can re-enable the extension in the top Bananatag menu under Extension Status.”
If you’re receiving this message and using Firefox your extension will need to be updated.

To update the extension, go to the Firefox Menu, Addons and remove Bananatag. Then please re-add Bananatag by logging in to your account and clicking Resources-Getting Started, then choosing Download for Gmail.
